Pacquiao vs Broner

Since overcoming his legal troubles and no finalization on a rematch with Floyd Mayweather. Manny Pacquiao is set to return to the United States to take on Adrien Broner in January. Coming off a draw to Jessie Vargas and a loss to Mikey Garcia, Adrien Broner is looking for a win against a big name opponent to re-enter the title picture.

Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao is already a future hall of famer being named Fighter of the Decade in the 2000s and the only fighter to win major World titles in 8 weight classes. Pacquiao has defeated 20 World champions including Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto. He is remembered for his rivalry with Juan Manuel Marquez and the super fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Adrien “The Problem” Broner once Floyd Maywether Jr’s protege is a former World champion in 4 weight classes. In 2012 Broner was the star of the lightweight division and ranked at number 5 on the pound for pound list by The Ring magazine. Broner’s most notable win came in his 2013 welterweight debut defeating Pauly Malignaggi for the WBA World welterweight championship followed by his biggest loss in an upset to Marcos Maidana.

A knockout win favors Broner

A decision win favors Pacquiao

This will be an entertaining fight because of the contrasting styles. Both have something to prove. Broner wants another championship and Pacquiao wants a rematch with Mayweather.

  1. Justin, I agree on this here I think Pacquiao has the upper hand here especially if it goes the distance and I think thats one of the big reasons hes a favorite in this one.

  2. First of all great article sir thanks for the share. I am not a boxing expert by any stretch of the imagination. But that Pretty Boy -vs- Pacquio was a snore fest. Floyd should of won more easily . When I look at Manny I am thinking how did sugar Shane and the Golden boy lose to this guy .I defies logic. Anyway I believe Broner needs this fight way more because Manny is done and has been since he went into politricks. Broner does most certainly need a knock out . Else Manny will put the audience to sleep and win on scraped out because of idiotic useless ring side judges points .These judges and boxing officials should be working for the Olympic figure skating committees .There is not much difference between them .

  3. Nice break down of the fight, although I find it hard to get up for an over the hill PAC-MAN.

  4. I would agree that Pacquiao may have the upperhand with his speed and agility. Unless it’s gonna be like another Manny Vs. Floyd. I still think Manny won that match

    • I can see and argument for Pacquiao against Floyd in Some moments of the Fight But I believe He Lost…I believe this fight against Broner will be more exciting…

  5. I would love to see a Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch. Though I’m a younger guy, I love seeing the older athletes thrive so I’m pulling for Pacquiao. To see athletes his age still perform at a high level is amazing and something we’re only going to see more as we head further into the 21st century.

  6. The Pacquiao of old would have easily been favourite here but these days he is not at his best. Against Mayweather he was a bum. However, I would like to see the rematch. It would be very, very interesting indeed to see Manny back to his best if he can get there again.

    Thanks for the article.

    • I Get Where You’re Coming From but I disagree Mayweather Just Out Boxed Pacquiao, Pacquiao Still Looks Good But I Don’t Want To See A Rematch…
      This Fight Was Better.
