Lightweight Unification Bout Pedraza/Lomachenko

Setup

Since making his debut at featherweight in 2013 Vasyl Lomachenko of Ukraine climbed the ranks of the pound for pound list setting several all-time records along the way winning a World title in his 3rd fight becoming a two-weight champion in his 7th fight and a three-weight champion in his 12th fight. In May Lomachenko became the WBA Super World lightweight champion defeating Jorge Linares in a 10th round TKO victory. Lomachenko has other notable wins defeating Gary Russel Jr. for the WBO World featherweight title and Roman Martinez for the WBO World super-featherweight title.

Jose Pedraza from Puerto Rico is a two-weight world champion with an impressive amateur background receiving a bronze medal in the 2007 Pan-American games a silver medal in the 2009 World Amatuer Boxing Championships and gold at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. Pedraza has notable victories winning the vacant IBO and IBF World super-featherweight championships and defeating Raymundo Beltran for the WBO World lightweight title.

On December 8th live from Madison Square Garden on ESPN Vasyl Lomachenko and Jose Pedraza will face in a unification bout for the WBA and WBO World titles.
