Saturday, December 22 Premier Boxing Champions live on Fox from the Barclays Center, Brooklyn featuring a co-main Event of the undefeated Charlo Twins Jermall “Hitman” and Jermell “Iron Man”.
This bout saw heavyweight action between Carlos Negron of Puerto Rico and Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale from California. The bout began with Negron seemingly out boxing Breazeale for the first couple of rounds with body shots and combinations. In round number 3 Breazeale turned the tables and began to open up and land big punches setting the pace for the next few rounds. At the end of round 5 Breazeale staggered Negron with some power head shots. In round 9 Breazeale stopped Negron with one solid right hook to the ear of Negron.

Scheduled for 12 rounds for the WBC World Super welterweight championship between Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo and the number 4 ranked super welterweight Tony “Superman” Harrison. The bout began with both fighters boxing skillfully and looking to counter punch. The first 6 rounds were closely contested with both having moments countering each other with big shots. By round number 8 Jermell Charlo seemed to be slightly ahead and controlling the pace. In rounds 11 and 12 Jermell seemed to aiming for knockout by stalking Harrison and landing some big punches. Harrison did his best to counter and was able to hold on without being knocked down. The judges scored the bout 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113 to the surprise of the announcers and crowd for a unanimous victory for Tony Harrison making him the new WBC World Super welterweight champion.
What was scheduled to be Jermall “Hitman” Charlo vs Willie Monroe Jr. for the interim WBC World middle-weight championship became Charlo vs Matvey Korobov of Russia after a failed drug test by Monroe. Korobov took the fight with one weeks notice. Seemingly upset by the controversial loss of his brother Jermall Charlo began the bout pressuring Korobov. Korobov kept Jermall on his toes with his good foot work and counter punching. The bout was highly competitive with each going back and forth winning rounds Charlo with his constant pressure and Korobov with his speed and counter punching. The two fought valiantly to the end in an action packed 12 round with Charlo stunning Korobov several times. The judges scored the bout 119-108, 116-112, and 116-112 for a unanimous decision for the champion Jermall “Hitman” Charlo.
Dominic Breazeale may be a future challenger for Deontay Wilder.
